When You Receive Your Seeds

1. Choose your spot

Pick a sunny or partly sunny area where you can allow the flowers to grow without being regularly cut.

You don't need a huge garden — even a small patch, flower bed, planter or container can help.

2. Prepare the ground

Remove existing grass and weeds from the area.

Loosen the surface of the soil and rake it reasonably fine and level.

You don't need to create a perfectly prepared flower bed. These are wildflower seeds — they're meant to be a little wild!

3. Scatter the seeds

Simply sprinkle the seeds evenly over the soil.

Try not to put them all in one place.

For a more even spread, you can mix the seeds with a little dry sand before scattering them.

Don't bury the seeds deeply.

Gently press them into the surface of the soil after sowing.

4. Water them 💧

Give the area a gentle watering immediately after sowing.

Keep the soil slightly moist while the seeds are getting established, particularly during warm or dry weather.

Don't flood the area — a gentle watering is all they need.

5. Now let nature do its thing 🌱

Be patient!

You won't necessarily see all 20 types of flowers appear at the same time. Some will germinate and flower earlier than others.

Around 90 days after sowing, you should begin to see your butterfly garden coming to life.

6. Let it grow 🐝

Once your flowers are established, try to leave them alone and let them flower.

Avoid mowing or cutting the area while it's flowering.

You'll hopefully start seeing butterflies, bees and other pollinators visiting your new little patch of nature.

And that's the whole point.
